MY

STORY

Hailing from Jonesboro, Arkansas, David Mark Butler is a professional pianist and musician-entertainer.

From an early age, he had an insatiable curiosity for music, and played the piano and trombone among other instruments. Now 37, he has performed in most every type of venue imaginable as a solo or ensemble musician. After studying for a career in science and graduating from Arkansas State University in 2005 (B.S. Biology, emphasis Zoology), David decided in favor of pursing a life playing the piano. He parlayed his second job as a gig musician into contract employment for Holland America Cruise Line. For the next few years, he worked as a showband musician and solo pianist while having the amazing experience of traveling the world as a young man.

Always looking ahead, in 2008 David set his sights on breaking into the world of Dueling
Pianos. With a lot of practice time and the benevolent cultivation of many veteran players, he learned the ins-and-outs of what is a fascinating specialty in today's music performance market. He cut his teeth on the road playing for dozens of dueling piano bars across the South and Midwest, in addition to countless corporate shows and private events.

In 2015, David accepted a position as a full time piano entertainer at Ticklers Dueling Piano Bar on Bourbon Street, in the heart of the French Quarter in New Orleans. Here, he entertained thousands upon thousands of tourists from across the country and the world, adding to his immense song repertoire and fine tuning his showmanship skills. From 2015-2020, he was
fortunate to be in demand working exclusively with Ticklers as it grew to be the top-rated, "People's Choice" favorite piano bar in NOLA that it is today. David maintains a relationship with the Ticklers piano player stable and organization, and considers himself lucky to have had the experience to grow with the company to become a consummate musician and entertainer.

After 5 fun years on Bourbon Street, in 2020 David relocated to the Florida panhandle for a slower-paced life with fewer late nights and more sun and saltwater. He looks forward to many more years playing songs and putting on shows with colleagues and friends old and new. He resides in Navarre with his lovely wife Jenn, dog Snoopy, and a growing army of pet turtles and
tortoises.
